A 34 × 72-inch reference makes custom shade quotes easier to organize. It does not make every product with those dimensions equivalent. Fabric, control system, accessories, buying channel and installation service can change what a quote includes.
First, define what 34 × 72 means
For this comparison worksheet, 34 inches is the entered order width and 72 inches is the entered order height. Record the mount separately. Do not assume the finished fabric has the same width as the complete shade. SmartWings, for example, distinguishes roller fabric width from order width in its measuring guide. Always use the instructions for the exact product you are purchasing. Official measuring source.
If your actual opening is 34 × 72 inches, follow the seller’s instructions before entering an order. A reference comparison is not a measurement recommendation for your installation.
Keep five kinds of price separate
| Price label | What the record must show |
|---|---|
| Exact configured price | Dimensions, product, fabric, motor or control, mount, accessories and seller |
| Official starting price | The brand’s advertised entry price; not a confirmed 34 × 72 quote |
| Retail reference | Retailer and exact SKU or variant, with actual dimensions |
| Promotion | Offer conditions, eligible configuration and check date |
| Quote-only | A configuration requiring a seller or dealer quote; no invented number |
Compare the same control level
Build separate lists for manual shades, remote-controlled shades and the smart-home setup you want. Record whether a remote, charging equipment, solar panel or bridge is included. For smart options, ask the seller to confirm the exact motor and any extra equipment required for your platform.
When two brands use different systems, describe the difference instead of calling them identical. A useful comparison tells you what you would actually need to buy.
Calculate fabric differences only within a matched pair
To compare blackout with light filtering, hold the brand, product family, entered dimensions, motor, mount and accessories constant. Then calculate the blackout configured price minus the light-filtering configured price. If one selection changes the motor or product family, label it a comparison of different configurations.
Do not subtract one brand’s starting price from another brand’s configured price and present the result as a saving. Do not treat a missing price as zero.
Save a quote record before checkout
Record the product URL, selected options, currency, price, check date and offer conditions. Note whether shipping, tax and installation are included or still unknown. For several windows, request the full basket or project quote instead of multiplying a single-window price.
Use the custom shade price library to identify existing references, then revisit the seller for your configuration. For broader shopping options, open the brand directory.
