This comparison focuses on two practical decisions: what each retailer’s published policy offers if measurements are wrong, and how professional measurement or installation is arranged. Policy details were checked October 19, 2026; fees and eligibility can vary by product, location and current terms.

Professional installation pathProfessional Measure & Install program, subject to eligibility by ZIP code and treatment; professional measurement is included in that program.Installer search and booking through Thumbtack; the buyer contacts a local pro for a separate price quote.

Check eligibility for the exact treatment. These terms are not universal promises for every product or address: read the Blinds.com SureFit policy, Blindster Fit-or-Free policy, Blinds.com installation program and Blindster installer page before ordering.

Which fit guarantee is more useful for your order?

If you are measuring yourself, compare more than the headline “free remake.” Blinds.com describes a 30-day claim window and changes limited to size and mount on an eligible same-product exchange. It says a price difference or qualifying shipping charge can remain payable. Blindster describes a 60-day contact window; its remake stays with the same product, color and options, and its published policy adds $20 shipping per product plus any price difference. Blindster lists additional exclusions and an oversize freight charge. Neither policy is a general refund for a shade you no longer want.

For a multi-window order, count the policy limits as well as the deadline. A small first order may make the final measurements easier to verify before committing to the remaining windows. Confirm the current policy in writing when the product is in your cart.

How is professional installation arranged?

Blinds.com Professional Measure & Install is an eligible-home service with a ZIP-code check. Its page says a professional measures and later installs the order; the treatment and location affect eligibility. Request the full service price and confirm which windows and treatments are covered.

Blindster points shoppers to Thumbtack installers. You enter a ZIP code, compare available local pros, request a price directly and book installation after the shades arrive. Ask the installer whether measuring before purchase is offered, who takes responsibility for dimensions, and what the installation quote includes. Do not assume the two service paths transfer measurement risk in the same way.

Compare the actual shade and total cost

A retailer-wide price winner would be misleading: fabric, size, controls and promotions vary by product. Choose one indoor shade category and send both sellers the same window list. For a roller or cellular shade, record the ordered dimensions, mount, material, opacity, control, valance and any motor, remote, hub or charger. Then add measurement, installation, shipping, tax and remake-related fees where applicable.

Use our complete quote checklist to collect matching totals. Our mounting guide helps decide which dimensions and edge coverage matter. If you need a motorized cellular shade, review the Blindster motorized cellular options and confirm the corresponding Blinds.com product specifications before comparing a price.

A practical choice

Consider Blinds.com if its professional measure-and-install program is available for your treatment and you want that service path priced with the product. Consider Blindster if its exact shade fits your specification and you are comfortable arranging an installer separately or installing it yourself. For either retailer, the written product configuration and total quote should decide the purchase; this page does not claim that one has better fabric or customer service.
