Two online retailers · One complete window
Blindster vs SelectBlinds is most useful as a comparison of two exact shade orders. Both offer indoor custom shades, motorized choices and eligible no-drill options. The right shortlist depends on your frame, fabric, controls and the cost of correcting an order.
Start with the configuration.
Short answer: investigate Blindster if its named roller or cellular configuration matches your needs; investigate SelectBlinds if you want to compare Click2Fit or other product-specific mounting choices. Neither is a universal price winner. Match the lift, fabric and accessories, then check the order-protection terms.

Blindster vs SelectBlinds at a glance
| Decision | Blindster | SelectBlinds |
|---|---|---|
| Motorized example | Motorized Deluxe Blackout Fabric Roller lists battery lift, an optional six-channel remote and cassette choices. | The motorization guide distinguishes remote or wand control from app and smart-home configurations. Select the exact upgrade before comparing. |
| No-drill route | The checked Motorized Deluxe Light Filtering Double Cellular offers an EZ-Mount tension headrail. | Click2Fit uses an inside-mount tension system. Its guide advises against PVC frames; depth and dimensions remain product-specific. |
| Measuring mistake | Fit-or-Free has a 60-day notification window from delivery, remake limits and shipping charges. | FIT is a separate measuring-protection program. Confirm enrollment and charges; the published terms set eligibility and remake limits. |
| Preference change | Returns need authorization; the policy has a refund cap and exclusions. | Its 90-day process distinguishes defects from a paid remake for a different color, mount or lift. |
| Price comparison | Use the same window, opacity, lift, mount and accessories. A promotion percentage or unmatched starting price cannot establish which retailer is cheaper. | |

Fit first. Then choose the controls.
Window fit
No drilling still needs a suitable frame.
Check the mounting surface, clear depth and handles before choosing a no-drill upgrade. SelectBlinds’ Click2Fit guide says width variation over ¼ inch can prevent a proper fit. Use each seller’s own measuring and deduction instructions.

Remote control and app control differ.
Blindster’s checked double-cell shade lists a 15-channel remote and optional Smart Hub-C; these are not the six-channel roller package. SelectBlinds describes bridge-based app and voice options on compatible configurations.
Understand motors and hubs →Write down the motor, controller and desired ecosystem for every room. Ask the seller whether one remote or bridge can handle all selected shades. A shared brand name does not prove that two motor families work together.

Match more than the color.
Put the exact material, opacity and sample name on both quote sheets. Similar color names do not establish an equivalent fabric.

Build a total you can compare.
Our brand profiles retain dated 34 × 72-inch examples, but the Blindster blackout reference is motorized and the SelectBlinds Classic Vinyl reference uses cordless lift. They also use different materials. Those figures are useful product references, not a matched price contest.
One quote sheet for both retailers
- Window: width, height, inside or outside mount, available depth.
- Fabric: exact sample, opacity, material and color.
- Lift: cordless, remote motor or smart motor; note power and charging access.
- Accessories: remote, hub, charger, cassette and mounting upgrade.
- Delivered total: promotion conditions, shipping, handling, tax and installation.
- If something goes wrong: protection enrollment, remake shipping and any size-price difference.
For several windows, separate shared equipment from per-shade costs. Confirm whether the total includes enough remotes and charging equipment for your installation. Use our same-window price method to keep the comparison consistent.
Read beyond the guarantee headline.
Blindster: a remake can still cost money
The Fit-or-Free policy lists $20 shipping per remade product, possible size-price differences and oversize fees, plus eligibility and usage limits. Its separate authorized-return route caps refunds at $500 per order/person/household within 12 months and excludes certain products and charges. Read both routes before choosing one.
SelectBlinds: verify FIT enrollment and shipping
The guarantees page listed FIT enrollment at $9.99 per unit on our check date. The terms set a 90-day claim window, dimensional tolerances and remake caps. Their FIT section describes shipping at no extra cost, while their shipping section says FIT remakes incur shipping charges. Get the applicable delivered remake cost confirmed in writing.
The returns page describes repair or replacement for eligible defects and a paid remake for preference changes. Its warranty page lists a standard three-year residential limited warranty and paid five-year options, with separate motor-part limitations. For either retailer, request the warranty for the exact motor and shade; a longer satisfaction window alone is not better coverage.
Questions before you order
Is Blindster cheaper than SelectBlinds?
We have not established that with matching current quotes. Compare the same fabric tier, dimensions, lift, accessories and service scope. Our dated brand-profile references use different configurations and should not be ranked as equivalent products.
Which is better for a rental?
Start with permission and window fit. Compare eligible tension-mounted products against the actual frame and depth. No-drill is an installation method, not a promise that every product suits every rental window.
Does blackout fabric guarantee a completely dark bedroom?
No. Edge gaps, mounting position and hardware affect the installed result. Compare the coverage plan as well as the sample. See our guide to blackout shade light gaps.
Keep the next step specific.
